solutions for yt money troubles

This is it what I think would work, but I'm not crazy (well maybe I am) but I'm not stupid, I know it would take time for this sort of set up to take with the general population. One of the reasons I didn't change the top two layers of vids is because with the transition from being a popularity based content provider to a quality content provider the current viewers still need to be statisfied. I assume the current viewers and content providers will complain, because that's what they do best it's quite simalar to what I saw them test just a yesterday then they changed it back. But I wouldn't do what they did, they made catogories like mine but they were all populaty based, this collection of viewers isn't making you money now but your still going to showcase what they like, what are you people thinking. The page design it's self was very busy with other catogories too. Now I like to go simple with design to attrack the greatest amount of people from every life style when promoting a site, old people for example get very confused with technology and just leave the site if not satisfied automaticly. YT has long since been too complex offering too many opptions I make websites for a living and it took me over a month to figure out how to find things I wanted to see that were of quality. Things like most popular this week this month all time, I get that everyone wants to be in the lime light, but does everyone want to watch crap all the time, it's like I can't find anything cause I have to know the right search words. I would set up the catogories in the same fashion there are a few things to consider who's your market are they really teaching or relaying their content good plot, organized thoughts can you even see the videos being promoted, are they good I mean really good. The promotion attiudes of youtube are another thing that really just should change seems they instated policies then retracted them, they say it's for everyone but only these top 20 high subbed people get any views, the views aren't selling ads because these people aren't good enough, their numbers keep growing cause they keep getting promoted out of it, I have rarely seen anything worth watching from the promoted top 20, only some what the ---- guy seems to have any talent or content at all, but the promoters leave no room for the you in you tube. So This brilliant idea of free uploaded video site is dieing cause no one cares about anything but what they like, everyone gives them free rights to show their own productions and information experinces etc. they've been reconized for political gains and helping with higher education, and they still rather focus on what teens with no money like, like makeup and cursing or they promote their own personal views like the amazing a-hole. What's amazing is that they have no professional marketing team.

Teen styles

Ok so it's obvious I'm so not a teenager I have no desire to act stupid I'm not interested in superficial things and I don't care about popularity much at all. However I have a teenager and I usually keep a keen eye out when I see things popping up on the scene, what starts with the teenagers on the east and west coast usually becomes causal fashion by the end of the year, and spreads to middle America in about 3 to 5 years, lol. Right now there's this great trend going on I just love it it's all about the gathering loose fitting layering free flowing cloth draped over your body. I believe it's a revival of 1920's fashion, it could even be due to our current economic parallels with the 20's. The layering part of this fashion is probally due to the common dress code in schools, lately many intercity schools have switched to uniforms or very strict dress codes, most of these schools have collared shirts sometimes called golf shirts. So what's a teen to do when the sluty styles have all been baned and there's no way of showing your individuality. Well these girls ware the golf shirt extra tight and unbutton it down to show their undershirts, these wife beater undershirts are coming in all sorts of bright patterns now to accommodate the poor deprived teenagers unable to show off. This undershirt trend allows for a lot of play for modern designers, you can make fashions that have very low show off neck lines no backs and your still not showing off everything (the goods). You change up this style for the weather too, say it's cold out the under shirt isn't the most important part of the style the over shirt is what shows so add a long sleeve under. Some other parts of this 1920's thing that make it a must have is the body type it can hide any flaws one might have so a big girl looks just as good in it as a twiggy. I like the 20's embelishments which have yet to catch on that much but you will see a bit of beading around the top of the over shirts or croqueting those little touches make a simple shirt out standing elegant and one of the most feminine fashions in years.
I really hope this trend is here to stay for a while.

Conservative now

Now when it comes to conservative styles smooth lines always do it for me. Sleek smooth tailored I love Vera Wang's bridal fashions for example but her ready to ware leaves me a bit lost, it doesn't look like her style it very well might be nothing but her having sold her name for others to design and sell. Conservative has often implied a full suit jacket pants matching etc., but considering the number of executives I've met with in recent years I don't even see this style happening unless it's in politics, it would seem business causal dress is the new conservative to ware a suit makes to bold a statement, like I'm dressing above you and the CEOs of big companies are saying with their kackies and cardigans I'm too comfortable and too rich to need to impress you, so your just trying to hard by waring a full suit. The silk blouse in a modern style is always a winner for us women, too tight a shirt is too much I find it hard to work with white button down shirts personally, so I usually go for colors, women in the work place can get away with a varity of styles like a corduroy suit jacket. I know I said suits were too much, but for a woman the jacket can be more of a accessory it doesn't have to match in fact to dress down I would suggest it doesn't match perfectly but just accents the outfit and it has that sinch waist thing where it makes you look thiner and can hide any amount of bulge. I find it pretty hard to work in dresses anymore cause I'm always running or bending down but if your one for waring them I like this retro 50's shape that going on right now. It's not your typical 50's patterns but if you check out the Issac Mezirhies fashions last fall that pretty much says it all.

Types of Styles- bohemian

Ok so we as I said before your style depends on a certain amount of factors. Location Body size, Weather You're status in life: Mom, business woman, teenager, child, Poor Rich etc. No matter what you're income if your willing to sew you can over ride all the income requirements. There's also sub groups of style such as your group of friends music and I don't think any of that really matters I love to mess with peoples minds those who think some one in a suit thinks or acts in a certain way or wearing a bohemian dress etc. it's also the sort of thing that can help you get the respect you deserve or the job you want.

If your in a small town going for the latest fashion is highly misunderstood doing your own thing can scare people and lose you friends. I lived in Denver for sometime and found that styles just don't change very often there. I understand staying warm and keeping simple but it seemed as though every woman there just wore jeans and t-shirts constantly, if they wanted to go out and dress up the the shirt and pants just got tighter???? I was in style hell.. Vintage isn't even a word although I personally can usually get away with anything cause I'm an artist, as soon as I tell people I'm an artist they're first consept is that I'm crazy to being with a free thinker hippy and weird etc. I don't really mind be thought of in that way at all, when sitting around with a bunch of suburban moms in sweat pants my extremely bright bold prints would other wise get me the reputation of being a crack head in the midst of the suburban landscape I didn't really jell very well with many of the other mothers but no one thought I was on drugs so that's a small success, although I thought they should have been on drugs when they started going crazy over those overpriced rubber clogs called crocks, trends are not always good especially when the masses don't know how tacky they look. I like tacky very loud obnoxious tack, but it's just no fun when people don't recognize it as tacky that's the beauty of vintage. Vintage like a bold paisley dress has been on the market long enough that everyone knows the style for a time it became outdated and then suddenly it's back in the lime light it spot lights a lost era, and some one just gets the guts one day to show it all off again that's a thing of beauty to pave your own way, choose what you want to wear, and often people follow in the dozens.Often Vintage is considered bohemian fashions now a days, but there are a number of other fashions that also fall into this section the new skater styles, the crafter hippy hand made stuff eco-friendly stuff etc. I'm gonna talk about the hand made stuff like it looks hand made like it looks like a child made it seems show buttons and tacky flower are sewn on to a lace under garment, this was so cool about 3 years ago, unfortunately the lace chemise showing as an outer garment is just too out outlandish for anyone to ware, it shows too much and not everyone wants to show off all the goods. Personally I started sewing when I was 16 and when I took my hand made hats to stores and they looked hand made the shop owners said they liked the styles but if I didn't finish off all the seams either with a lining or a locking stitch they wouldn't buy it. So I had to learn quality making the finished edges finished durable factory quality which dare I say is considerable better made then many of these new crafters can turn out. Would you buy a shirt that wouldn't last one wash or 3 months rather than one that lasts over 5years, due the math. I don't think this current trend of wearing things that are "hand made in America" such as the work on etsy is really going to last for long. And no I'm not sore my stuff didn't sell on etsy, well maybe a little, but then I know that I don't appeal to that style right now.

Keeping up with fashions

Last year I featured on you tubes front page, and I immediately fell pray to the dreaded haters. From watching other accounts get barded with nasty messages I had already figured some simple facts out about the main mind set of these people. To begin with we have the children about 75% of the people that have stupid messages are kids, and they are kids that are jealous of any one else getting featured, you also have a large number of people who believe they know everything about style and fashion. No one knows everything about style and fashion trends and vintage period costumes and folk (location)wear, there is simply to many styles out there at any given time. I went 80's with my video that was featured, many of my comments were to the effect that, I was white trash trailer trash stuck in the 80's etc. I'm sorry middle America I had no idea that there were so many of you that live near people who haven't changed their styles since the 80's. Shortly after the video was featured I took a trip down south and everything was normal current styles till I got to Virgina at every restaurant and gas station I saw women with the same hair styles from the 80's too much hair spray curled under or puffed back, I see an occasional mullet from time to time in the east coast cities but this was not a fluke down south. I am not about to stop sporting what I like to ware because there is some other location that can't understand current styles. 1980's is the New Vintage. I just love Vintage styles 80's actually started coming back out of the closet about 2 years ago. I wouldn't go so far as to ware a Mullet or leg warmers there are some forms of tacky that are just too far beyond what I can even stomach. Some things that are majorly in, are big thick belts, cut off thumb gloves, cheerleader skirts (not stripper length) super tacky slits and jean jackets, don't over do it none of those big shoulder pads please.

No child left behind

What BS. with a name like that you would think that this program is supposed to help kids, it doesn't and it can't the way it's set up is that it has every school terrified out of their wits, they put the stress on the children and then the children spend almost the entire school year testing and preparing for tests. Social Studies history and Science are no longer important subjects in my kids school. Fear is not an American value, fear is better left to those who rule absolute, fascist, communist, and dictators, this is what our schools are lead by?.. The schools that make the lowest grades on these tests are those that need the money and support the most in the worst neighborhoods the ones that can't support themselves off the local taxes. Most schools get their money from local taxes low income neighborhoods have low income school whats worse is this entire idea that education success is primarily due to the schools influence is 100% false even our own president chose a private school to the public school system he helps to control and fund. The problems with Low income and intercity school are a follows, first the family life of the student do they get homework help from parents, do they get proper nutrition at home, do their parents work constantly, are they left alone at home often, are their alternatives to being alone and what are they, are their community help programs, do their parents know English, Do their parents take drugs or alcohol problems? Then comes their out reaching community, Is their drug or gang or violence or criminal activity prostitution in their community, Is their social or racial unrest, are their community programs available libraries community centers, food banks, free tutoring, mentor programs, a safe place with good people to go to.

"I am a teacher in a intercity school, many of the children don't want to take vacations from school, they wish their was no winter break no spring break, no summer vacation, no weekends, for some of them, when they go home there's no one there, for some those who are home, they don't want to be around."

Hmm..

I've total gotten board of the Internet, seems there's only so much one can do of interest, hmmm... I've googled the Celts and Myspaced my dead friends, I've made a few videos and studied the art of video editing researched my family history and contemplated social interacting, still don't get the social interacting on the web a true friend to me is one I really know one who would and could babysit for my kids, I don't think I could know anyone on the web well enough to let them babysit my children trust with my money or anything of the sort with people that so easily could mask them selfs so there really isn't any real friendship there, I imagine most of the people are good people but I could never judge them well enough through a e-mail even a phone call, I still don't understand why people feel so close to others without being able to judge their facial expressions what they do how they treat people when their having a bad day. A while back I pissed off my best friend by saying something insensitive, it hurt her feelings naturally, she didn't call me for a day then she just forgave me, I don't really understand it but had this been an online friendship the ties would be cut forever, it's easy to let go of something not that important, something that doesn't affect you, someone you don't really know, could I ever real leave innocent children with someone that I only know on their terms someone that can cut off the computer when ever they don't wish to speak to me, what could they be hiding drug abuse petifiles insanity, I couldn't do it my children are too precious, it amazes me that so many people put their whole lives in the hands of strangers, when I can barely trust anyone on the internet past how's the weather, lol, I know their human and I try not to offend because they must have feelings and I know they take seriously the other people that talk to them, I don't understand the children that try to hurt others, I don't understand how hurting others in itself is pleasurable. I guess this is something I can never be and I can accept that I wanted to understand, but I can't act very well I like who I am and I don't feel like I need the approval of strangers, I've always been well liked by my peers well at home that is, but I've always had friends no matter where I was, so I don't understand being so lonely that I'd find more solace in chat room than a coffee shop. Accepting that I can't understand something is hard for me, I'm off on my other journey for now, Life real life and my spirituality is a big part of that for me and I know I see it all quite differently than others, I think of my spiritual path as my physical path what I do what I don't do who I talk too, what I make my success my career my education my charity, to me the calm and ingenuity of creation helps me to understand all the things around me, this week I made Mark a costume my older daughter a vest (to help her look cool) and my younger daughter a dress in her style that fits. I decorated my box for my bible which looks quite stuipd and girly now I really should redo that, and I've thought up a better idea for something to pass down to my children. I padded the top and bottom of my bible box but there's still room around the sides the family history is somewhat of an hairloom, I've done a dozen personal quilts, baby dresses and more, but it still seems I have little to pass on, so what I want to do is write in my times the year 2009 my spiritual interpretation on the books of the bible, 500 years ago people refused to believe the earth was round, two hundred years ago Christans thought god sat in the clouds above us, and pondered whether women had souls at all, today many still believe that the world was created in 7 days and a flood devoured the world. I, I am an intellect one who understands and believes the world of science even studies it, and yet I believe the miracles of Jesus, although I don't care about the magic of Jesus what so ever, I care about the words he spoke the teaching that I'm sure if followed correctly would lead to a happier life, don't much care what happens when one dies but I imagine it's much more like we are in this world and far less then we can imagine we are of this world. I'm not an typical enough Christian to go preaching to those who don't care and forcing it upon them, and I'm not a scared enough intellect to abandon my faith entirely for fear of what others may associate me with.

Keeping up with my current crafts

Ok so I rant and rant about the complexity of videos and how I simply don't have the time to keep up with all that I do. Truth is I feel very useless if I'm not creating something or learning something, the sewing and crafts are meditative expressive and therapeutic to me I use them to sort out my thoughts and feelings I go into a zone when I'm doing them I use my skills those things I've learned and figured out my past experiences and creativity. Lately I have made, I mean since December I have finished at least the top of my table which I started after thanksgiving did a vid on it and described a few of my thought processes on it, what I left out cause it's a video is my ideas on useful art being that my parents are fine artist I found art that sat in a museum or on a wall and made such a meager living monintaryly well I found fine art infuriating not that I don't love it do it and feel moved by it, I simply like useful things touchable things. I'm told that in Native American languages prior to Europeans there were no words for art there was of course art in every ordinary item in a house hold but they didn't see it as a separate entity, amazing inspiring such a concept challenges all that I've ever learned. So I find more purpose in decorating the usual average items of a home. I also excluded my interests in may different styles of art the table includes some art deco, some art nuvo, and that fun touch of the piano key that seem playful enough to want to touch and pretend to play on.

So that's the Table, I also had some costumes to make My older daughter came to me with a week to make a character from a book for a reading class party at school of course it took me to the end of the week to take any intrest in doing so, but I succeeded at first she only wanted to be a powerpuff girl, but walmart (yes I shop there) didn't have the right fabric then we considered tinkerbell which I can't say I liked due to the short skirt and strapless dress and the complexty of the costume, Finally Dorthy from the Wizard of OZ simple cheap and strait cuts, I made this costume in about 2 hours including sizing so if I do a how to costume video this is what I'll make it was fun she looked great and easy enough to change into with her uniform at school

I also never posted that adorable goth cheerleader costume that I had made her for Halloween last year so this is it:

And I've been working on yet another costume for Mark this time, he always complains that I never do anything for him or sew him anything that is. So I'm not supposed to announce it or anything but I'm making him a superhero costume copyright free of course and we're working out the scripts and character it's a new deal sort of thing. I was trying it on him for size the other day before I added the yoke and it looked just like a evening gown on him, he was not so happy with it but it was hilarious especially with his chest hair, very dashing, he'd make a great drag queen I must say, I already have some ideas about how stupid and aimless dressing and acting like an idiot cartoon is at our mature age but if he wishes to behave that way I've never stopped anyone from falling in their own self made wholes. He still hasn't finished editing the video of the cave man costume I made him last year.

So that just about covers the whole sewing stuff I've been doing I should write more often cause I also have been practicing knitting my brother wants the tom baker dr. who scarf that was red too, it may take a few years I had someone else make him the brown one a few years ago but if I keep going at this rate he may have the red one by the time his daughter graduates college 10years or so, lol, I'm slow at knitting. I've been wanting to finish up a greenscreen quilt and make some more plastic bag holders and market some on etsy too, of which I've sold nothing off of as of yet and make a video explaining them too, we'll see. and then I wanted to make some more ugly dolls and do the same promotion video and sell on etsy etc.. So some other things I have done is make a banner for etsy and some backgrounds for Mark's upcoming quiz video and some of this and that oh I made a Website too and well I don't know what else I do and do and do and days just fade away children get older and responsibilitys get greater some days I can't remeber and I never know where I'm going or where I've been I just live and know what I'm doing now, what a taoist way to feel : )

learning

La di da, So I'm learning this video thingy and I'm finding I just don't like the way that the average videos are made there is a standard on youtube and most online videos keep it short, speed though the making process and shoot like an untrained home video, ahhhrr, no can do. I get that people have short attention spans and are unable to keep interest unless the camera is zooming in and out and all over but it's so primitive, I was trained to shoot professionally and the home movie became obsolete. In all honesty I'm not really concerned with whether or not anyone cares to watch it's really pretty cool that I have an online journal of how to do or what I've done, I can refer back to it to teach my friends and hopefully even my children even if they have learned, everyone needs a reference manual once in a while. To be honest I feel like just giving up on crafts all together with the needs of my family the children's homework and everything else just feels too over whelming for me at times but I'm still on the fence for now. I've tried making these little teaching videos more interesting well I think wearing my poka-dot dress really helps lighten the mood and smiling really fakely (but I suck at acting so I'm bad at keeping that up). I tried telling some of the stories of how and from who I learned. I guess this is a real little treasure to pass on to those I love, a compilation of my teachings, but the videos themselves are so time consuming to make and put together and I'm always pushing myself to make it better top of the line, visible easy to learn off of detailing the simple things, I've lost all interest in impressing people for views or subscribers. I'm not sure how to make them better I've practiced putting together simple intros on Vegas with photoshop and flash and premiere pro not all of which I've posted but I guess I'm learning I've also practiced changing the shape and size picture in picture, 3d movement, that 3rds title thing playing with music speed and cutaways, all of this is very good since my secondary interest in video is to learn it and learn it well it profits me in two ways, first my being a graphic designer this adds a bit more to my resume skills and knowledge, and my lovers business I would like at some point to be good enough to edit for him or even myself for business endeavors video tutorials weddings ect. . Some of the stuff we've done together I've just run though much of the stuff I've done for youtube I've run though not so interested in the best editing given that it's taken me days at a time to do even the shortest of these videos, I get fed up and with out proper motivation (money) uninterested in doing my best, just getting it out there really. I have learned the basics and I think next I'll incorporate that little side logo thing for fun I have two more videos of footage and then I don't know maybe I'll just lose all interest. The first is 1explaining fabrics then there's 2 quilting a pillow, I haven't taught 3what or where to buy a sewing machine 4how to thread it, 5 tension 6how to practice some simple starter patterns 7 how to read commercial patterns 8sizing 9grading 10curves 11 how to make your own patterns 12how to copy from clothes 13 beading, 14fashion styles, 15macrame 16croqueting 17knitting 18special embellishments 19added touches, my god I know too much and this doesn't even begin to teach my art knowledge but I have to wait to teach that cause someone is trying to make money off his knowledge and I won't come in between that. Then I would like to share my thoughts on god 20 another endeavor I can add to my teachings that someday may help my children with their lives, however I know I'm not the usually with my belief systems and therefore may offend some interest others but more importantly I would be saying what I think to be true although what I think to be true is not true to everyone the concept of god which I see in a very physical apparition of our every day choices and actions it is simply to complex and abstract a notion to introduce to anyone but maybe I'll try with an very artsy appeal to the video.

Crafts fun and Videos

I'm so amazed and excited Etsy wanted to talk a bit about my Holiday video they wrote a little blurb and reposted my video on their site the Etsy site :
http://www.etsy.com/storque/how-to/eco-friendly-gift-wrapping-with-junoart-3120/

Wow I'm just over joyed. One of the reasons I'm doing the blog thing was well networking but I really haven't had much response on the blog thing, so getting noticed from the Video thing is great, because Video takes alot of time and effort, the blog is great cause I can sorta track where I was last week with this stuff there's also another offer I got from my videos but I can't talk about it. I'm also learning a lot right now about Etsy, blogs the internet networking and of course video and how to videos, teaching anything is pretty hard and I'm learning more about marketing too.

One of the people that commented on my video that was featured on you tube made a sewing video about hair ties and that's pretty cool. I want to talk to her more but for now I'm very happy someone made a sewing video.

LOL

So I just got featured on the main page of youtube. As I figured I got a ton of hate comments but I also got a ton of support and a few extra subscribers. This is excellent I tried getting a few extra people to make video, and I believe there are in fact far fewer viewers that do crafts or sewing then I previously believed, I guess it's true Arts and Crafts people read blogs it figures their naturally more inquesitive and lible to enjoy a good book over a movie and warm tea next to a fire than a beer in a night club, lol, it's the simple life that's most fulfilling. There's still enough crafters that I will contiune making informative videos for now but my intrest in it is not so intense, but I have found a new mission to get the crafters to make good video fun and watch some too. So check out my hoilday craft video.

I made this video off a few ideas I cut alot of stuff out in editing cause the attention span of Yt viewers is very short 5min. I wanted to talk deeper about the insainity of paying a small fortune for wrapping paper cards and all the little things. I remember my mother used to carve her own prints to make cards every hoilday season it was unique and special, but I guess there wasn't enough respect for the cards or even the process cause she hasn't done that in years. Hoildays really are about love friends and family, crafts the same and creativity, neither one should have to cost a bundle

Me Videos

Hmm... guess it's my only real outlet to the Internet world.. Videos and since people want that sort of instant gratification I guess it's the best way to go. The funny thing is I've got 75 friends on Myspace and those are mostly the people I know personally, where as I have only 36 subcribers on youtube, lol. No matter google picks it up and I hope I'm a least slightly more enertaining then the average seamstress. The big problem with it is that production takes so long, it takes me at least a day to produce even the simplest 4 min video, and I just can't cheat myself on lessen my quality anymore than I already do. I shoot my vids with my digital camera, and I totally cheat on lighting one maybe two, then I just change the setting in the editing on lightness and contrast, but I'm learning too. First I'm making videos to learn editing I know high production video shooting whitebalance lighting, and what angles and shots to shoot at and if I didn't Mark would hound me. Second I have my own style detached from Mark and his work, Video is serious business in our family so I would like to do better but it just doesn't seem worth it, high quality means I should be getting paid, playing around is what gives me a sense of where or in what direction to improve. One thing I've noticed with Vlogs is that there is very little point to viewing them at all when it is almost always the persons face, a few facial expressions hardly help to tell the story any better, people with hands that fly around have higher ratings and it's no wonder when there's very little action else where. So I've been doing a series on graphic design there are just tons of graphic design program videos out there and people always want to know how to do the tricks but have no foundation as to how to present them properly, so In my videos I talk basics I covered Marketing, Raster and Vector formats resoulution, and Logos Next I want to cover, Typography, white space compestion contrast and that's about it, I thought there would be a larger market for it because the rest has been done, and my videos directly coralate to all 2d art inculding video but because I don't put it in the title people seem to be lost as to how to use my info effectivly. The series will still help me when it comes to dealing with customers and trying to explain my purposes in how I create my art and why, instead of seeming demading trying to explain the art and why they shouldn't change certian parts of the work. I would have gone on to teach some corel but it's really not worth it without a demand from anyone that would use it. So I'll get that series out there and be finshed with it. Sewing seems to be the meat and potatos of it all. While I have created a character that really attracts the right scene this 50's house wife I'll have to move her from just bashing Mark's greenscreens to teaching useful knowlege about sewing while it's not entirely unuseful to use only blue and green fabrics I'm not sure I want to do that the whole time, the charater is able to be quite mouthy and sarcastic too, and I like that angry house wife deal, 50's attracts artys people with the rockabilly DIY style and I get to have a feminie quality while bashing the oppsite sex, I do get a little enjoyment out of bashing Mark, lol, trust me he deserves it. Then there's two other angles I've thought about first is the spiritual I did one on beauty a while back and it was really well recived then I've thought about doing more with the kids there's so many kids watching youtube having them do art or something would eventually get attention but mark doesn't really want the girls on the Internet, yes he's overprotective and the older one is wareing makeup now so maybe it's not for the best. Still the spiritual thing I wish I could just come out and say how I feel about things, that I'm not racist I don't disrespect other peoples religions or cultures that god is love and I don't understand why people love to hate other people or hurt other people, but just saying it isn't enough, to understand things people need to live them or see themselves question themselves living the stories what have you done what would you do how would you feel, so I need to write good stories or illustrate situations, the first one I did was a real dream I had so that was easy, much of my personal world I can't share with the public some is even aganist youtube policy so making up stories takes time.

Insanity

I don't get it I just don't. I learned how to navigate you tube myspace and so many other internet interactivity. Now I have to figure out blogs RSS other blogs link them or something talk to them or something and get my name out there, I just don't want to, I'm trying and I don't get it. I don't have a life time to devote to internet socializations. And I can't figure out why I'd bother when even on blogs it would seem people don't wish to read at all, short discriptions just to attract people is what they say to write. I don't care I really don't I'm gonna do my own thing, I was taught how to write and I'm told I'm a good story teller so even if no one reads this cause our generation seems to want instant gradifacation I don't care. I was taught to sew well and now it's popular to sew like a child with no reinforcement weak quaility some how translates into high creativity, bright pictures some how means more or better information, maybe some of the time in some ways and maybe I'm just to old to compeate in a DIY world. Creativity is great but what ever happened to quality. I don't seem to be able to dumb myself down and I don't want to make things that will fall apart if used, I love the art of sewing and crafts because it has a useful puropse, I hope this is just a trend. It's comparable to talking to those people who don't understand graphic design and want you to change your designs into something that they themselves would create in a word document. Does experience and knowlege count for anything. Hmm... Help!

More Beginings

I'm doing it, it's been a while but I got it up and started so it's a nice little side business. About two weeks ago I posted some stuff up on etsy under the seller name Junoart and while I haven't got much going yet on that site. I have alot more stock which today thanks to my friends as she said was being a bitch to get me to sell at this store she's doing some stuff for. But I'm glad I have a bitch for a best friend, I get so discouraged at times trying and trying to figure it out what I have to do.

Between making stuff and marketing stuff and Networking sites and researching products and then having a life a family and the 9 to 5 job stuff it all gets to be too much, and if things don't sell all the praise in the world doesn't make me feel good. Soon enough I'll see how it goes I think I spread myself too thin. My father always told me not to be an artist, what an insane passion it is.
In this new market and with the market being what it is nothing right now it's alot of work just getting it all together. Packaging is half the battle, people really do believe you have a better product if your packing is professional. Even beyond that marketing if you don't do it for yourself it won't happen, first you work with your own community and I think that's where the real support comes in those close to you will respect you and your work the most, but for todays market we know it's that big big world the Internet. There's thousands of us out there, into our own things do what we do screaming out to world on our digital platform in a sea where so many have already made a mark, how does one even get seen?

So I'm told for the arts and crafts market bloging is the mark it's the craft market so here I am, but is it enough, no not by any means. No one not one no how just becomes big all on their own just by making a blog writing some stories doing some videos, their's alway a hook a catch that gets people reading wins people hearts over and more. I've watched what it took to get mark big and it's practically selling your soul to see how many hours each endeavor takes it's the social interactivity promotions and being seen featured commenting and RSS or Subscribing or Friending people all over, it's a 24-7 obsession to keep up with once the ball is started it'll roll on it's own, but you need to play the game to win it, do I have what it takes I don't know. I just do what I love and if people get then great if not well I'll find another way.

Sew Crazy

Wow, wow, wow, just on a whim I replied to this ad from a huge tv station. Then I got a call back, they want me to be on a reality tv show for fashion design. I know I'm brilliant at designing I see some fabric some new styles and I imagine in my mind what it should be, it's like second nature to me. But I can't say this is the right path for me.

Self sacrifice again I must keep in mind my family, they need me and for me to follow my desires blindly and without pay means that I could make things very hard for them. I'm glad that my husband says he would do it for me, if I wanted to do it.

I have learned other things though from this, I know that most of the talentless people of you tube would love nothing more than being on a real TV show, some of those that believe they already are big have gone about getting talent agents, lol! And little old me with no following 35 little subscribers I got offered a real show because of my real talent. Ah but god's humor is more Ironic than even that, I'm hiding a secret, ok I'm hiding tons of secrets but this one is relevant, I have terrible stage fright, I'm camera shy. I thought I'd mostly gotten over it I'm a least able to talk on video that is going on the Internet, even if I shake and look up tight when doing so. But what I learned what I really learned is this the internet and all it's many free vices can be used to propel a career, they will not always be seen as frivolous play even you tube with it's reputation for stupidity, is something that can be used in the right format can be a showcase for talent. Now that I know there is one way in one way that I can succeed and find great opportunities there are other ways too I know there are just using my talents and exposing them to the right people is enough, it doesn't have to be exposing them to everyone.

So now that I've achieved what youtube stars have been trying for for years, I'm bored with it. I've also learned a few other things I've been practicing at editing and watching others (which is very boring) and I've learned that the vlog thing is just like listening to a talk show on the radio, few of these people use visual images in their videos and that is very boring, so I have no need to show my face anymore, one pic of my face when talking is enough, visual presentation has a purpose to illustrate the speakers words otherwise it's useless or only for the purpose of feeling personal by seeing the person I guess. I've also made money off my editing lately so I again feel as if I've achieved a great amount of knowledge and
while I need to do more work more practice I feel so far above those whom never advance with their skills in video and rely on their names sake for talent, I've gotten quite far.

Now You tube is not the only website worth posting on Myspace if your public and blogs like this one are great for self promotion. And here I am anilizing who and what I am and what I'm doing, that's such a bad way to go, I should just speak of my love of arts and crafts and not my many other intrests, lol.
As Alice in wonderland once said, " I often give myself very good advice but I very rarely follow it" That's me!

Starting your own small business

This is some tough stuff to do. Two weeks ago I started sewing I sewed and sewed and sewed some more I made pillows and plastic bag holders I made hair ties and more, then I went to my churches flea market and it rained and rained, I sold next to nothing. I wasn't concerned about it at the time, because rain has that effect on sales, but when I got home I did some research cause I plan on selling these things through the web esty I guess. I checked out another crafter that is advertising on you tube and figured out that with only 4000 subscribers she sells stuff, I don't like the lady in particular her art is not that impressive just copies and she's shown a distaste for children. I've found that I really have no respect for those that don't understand the awesome sacrifice of having children and I'm not talking about the labor room. So she had 4000 subscribers and sells most of what she posts and I after about 9 months of having it in mind to promote myself on you tube have about 30 most of which aren't really interested in my work but are in my husbands work, aggravation. I'd like to get my numbers up all on my own but I know what it takes, I watched him myself when he did it the legitimate way mostly. Most of the others with large numbers cheat to the top. You can do it with refreshers software were it replays over and over, some of them make thousands of fake accounts to subscribe to themselves.
It's difficult to succed when you must balance a real life. I believe one thing should be but cannot act for I do what ever betters my children lives. These are the same problems I have with you tube I have better things to do with my time than edit videos. Maybe I'll give this a try though make 2 videos a week.

Mark's New Logo

I'm going to write on this new logo I made mark and research for it trends style reasoning studies and more, but for tonight I simply must get some sleep. Here I've been trying to research a much larger audience, and collect more info.- I'm back and eager to share some of what I know.

I almost always start with the client and the audience when beginning a design. What sort of style does the client have and what are they selling to who, everyone is selling something even if it's not tangible items. If my client is conservative but their selling to a younger generation I appeal to the younger generation, if it's a conservative product I work with that. When ever your looking to promote any sort of service of products one should always try to get the concept of it's use across and getting idea across isn't always easy people don't want to be bothered with new or different, so it's a good idea to repeat it's use or value several times or in a way that is bold enough to catch the eye, your only given a few seconds of time to get you point across and ask the viewer to read into more on the subject. Some times I see signs that say the companies name and a generic logo like the liberty bell, without some sort of tag line this makes no sense to possible customers, you can do this if your walmart or target but I would suggest even supermarkets state their purpose, locals know strangers don't and even locals maybe more inclined to shopping when hungry if food is stated under the name on the sign, like impulse buying. Relevance is an ultra important aspect too, you wouldn't want a puppy dog to represent a big tough law firm maybe a bull dog but even that is unprofessional, you want to show corporate tough business very simple and dry is the best for this sort image text and slight graphics.

Research well if your reading this from youtube you already know I sometimes use my YT account as a survey group, hey it's free and gives a lot of data what better use for millions of home movies, lol. I suppose any sort of Internet site could work, but it needs to touch large amounts of people you aren't close to, YT posts on google and has alot of interaction between strangers it gets the word out better than owning your own site. So I always do some sort of research, I'll usually serf the web looking for images of say packaging that have similar products and are successful sellers, some artists look down on following trends and want total original work those artists are broke comforted only by their own lonely ideas. It works like this you can be totally original completely ahead of your time but if it's not what the market wants right now and what they are accustomed to seeing it won't sell. While I'm not saying to steal ideas or copyrighted materials, I often try to think about what I want the package to look like before seeing the other examples I'll sketch something out then look at the competition, then if I use something off their designs it's a style maybe I repeat gradients in my work if they have it in theirs or a style bold blocks of color to frame a picture or the current trends of swirls and blotches of splattered paint. While I was taught in school to think outside the box a term I find annoying, I find it far more challenging to think inside the box and keep up with the current trends, I came from a family of artists doing your own thing the abnormal thing was encouraged unless it was a normal thing, so I find it quite pleasing to create useful art that is appreciated and takes the contribution of more than my own ideas to create and is for more than just my own desires to express my feelings and thoughts, it's something for everyone. This is one subject I find that the videos of you tube often lose sight of the greater significance of the art form their trying to display, the social scene or volggers have very little purpose other than boosting their own ratings most don't even try to experiment to create any plots or better their own video production, I understand the passion of wanting to express one's thoughts and feelings, but it seems idle when there is no progression of talent or thought processes, when you do only for yourself your the only one your impressing.

So then we come to studies, in the art world the fine art world you see the artist drawling sketch after sketch of a hand to be incorporated into the final piece of art work that is of a full figure, this maybe confusing to anyone that's never painted. Studies are practice to learn any thing and do it right one needs not only the knowledge of how to draw but practice even masters have not mastered every inch just like one needs an image to work off of a model a photo, they also need to see some preliminary work, guide lines measurements perspective it's very challenging to take a 3d world and flatten it to 2d in a believable representation. When I'm illustrating I can't just open a computer screen and draw a believable face from start to finish, first off the control of a mouse is very different even my wacome tablet does not act in the same way a pencil or pen would work and I can produce several sketches that give rough outlines of layout in seconds with a pencil where a computer takes much longer to give the full concept of piece of work which brings me to brainstorming. I personally can't understand people that have only one idea at a time for any given problem, (unless it's political), I come up with several different solutions for any concept, while my focus may seem distracted this gives me so much more to choose from so that I can weed out the bad ideas which aren't always bad just not suitable for the need at hand. Throwing out unsuitable ideas or designs is very important in the learning process for example in my drawing classes I had many drawings that graded quite well, while a lesser artist (and I don't assume I'm the best) might hang something their proud of on the wall of their home, I throw out most of my work it's the practice I need not the work there are greater things to come if I work hard enough. I see from you tube a great many videos where people experiment and I do this myself to learn more if you watch my vids you'll see I've incorporated a new or different style effect concept or plot to each of my videos. This is for practice, I have tons of footage that I burn to disk and put away with no further use because it doesn't have a useful enough reason, I even have plenty of plots and stories I don't use because they aren't of enough value. It's good to get rid of the bad to use only the useful the quality of your work is admired when you show your best work, when showing the practice work most people can't understand it's value and it lessens your public image. Most of youtube is made up of studies practice work tests (whether people know that their testing the market or not), it's amateur hour but I rarely see progress or purpose special effects are fun and catch the attention of viewers but without a plot to explain what your doing some where else or why your flying or who or why your fighting with a light saber you've just tested the technical side of video. Video by far is one of the most complex mediums first the visual then sound lights plot music levels edits cuts timing purpose explaining with visuals a thousand pictures a minute a mood and more and it all needs to come together in a harmony that makes it look effortless it needs to evoke the thoughts and images that one experiences in everyday life, if I'm thinking of driving I look at my car keys if I'm scared of driving the keys can make me dizzy portrayed in the shaking of the camera or dark lighting or deep low music then the editor must decide which of those effects best explains the emotion without overdueing it so that the extreme special effects make it feel produced manufactured, in 2d the image can explain a lot more with a lot less work again one does not wish to over due with special effects designs should naturally make one feel or explain the concept without extreme BUY ME, BUY ME NOW this discourages smart shoppers but can sometimes sway the simple minded with heavy suggestibility properties.

Trends, My best advice is to sell out or buy in as I call it. While some people are jealous of those whom use their talents to make money, only those supported by someone else a rich daddy or a trust fund are able to master an art with no expectations of making money off it. Money is a great motivator and purpose or necessity is the mother of invention or creation. Buying in is not nearly as easy or as compromising as people make it out to be, marketing is key to any successful business, people insult musicians that change their style of music supposedly just for sales rock turns to pop etc. but when we consider that these bands are still in the music industry when so many other musicians who are too good to sell out are still working at fast food restaurants, we see that you need to market to your audience you may find a cult following that loves you but they don't pay your bills, so how ever much your cult loves you, they only really love what your image is what you represent, and bill collectors don't care who loves you.

So trends this word is autonomous with fashion and the fashion industry but it's apparent everywhere in the art world. In fine art an age is defined by the majority of artists style the impressionists the cubists the surrealist abstract, if you were to watch a movie from the 70's and all the actors had no defining dress or hair styles you could still see from the shots and the lighting the slower edits that it was from that era. Wonder Bread screams 50's so do certain fonts and simple designs. Furniture Architecture makeup and more all can be dated items. What helps trends and styles change faster then ever is our ever advancing technology, with every new button we can push we feel the need to test it until we're satified and board, over exposed to it. While leading the way is admirable and testing is important in Marketing too much originality is often unacceptably because it is different, change is uncomfortable to most people unless their is need small changes are acceptable big change causes fear in the unknown to the masses. Trends change quickly so depending on the speed of your field I suggest you research often to keep up.

Your probably thinking at what point did I talk about Mark's new logo, well I explained my process in how and what I study or research to come up with usable ideas in Mark's case I looked at other you tubers and what younger hip males like to see. I explained the useful nature of practice in design some of the design which I purchased to save time, some I came up with myself, all of which states in a visual way his purpose or the public image he needs to show in his case I'm selling a personality and teaching video the images included in the logo say this. I also followed a trend which is popular right now and speaks to young people. The Logo is probably the most important image to tell your audience that you are a real company and what your message is,logos identify who or what your about they are repeated as often as possible and when marketed properly can speak more about the company then words can.

That was a wonderful little experiment, I thought the last title would get more views but science often proves us wrong. The first title was plain and to the point, the second was to see a response to the innuendo of sex and the third was using 2 popular names to see if people would a search the number one movie in America (Juno) and two Mark Apsolon a sudo cleb on YT. So the results are SEX SELLS, duhh, yes I knew that I just didn't know how much till now.

Believe nothing of what you hear, and only half of what you see, this is the best damn saying I can think of for the entertainment world, which is funny cause it's very easy to convince people of anything you like on video, leave out what you want add in your own perspective. Most people are very susceptible to believing anything a documentary tells you, when the producers perspective is the only one ever showed in a documentary.

In school I was taught that the top three strongest advertising images to sell a product were puppies, babies and sex, in that order, this seems to be on the freudian side of the world= reproduce reproduce reproduce, well it's proven to work. I think that YT is just a bit diffrent than average advertizing it's entertainment as well as learning too. So entertainment encompasses horror, drama, sex, action, education, adventure, suspense, comedy, science fiction, and true life (fiction supposedly vlogs) most imporatantly plots! (some people forget that part) . I was orginally considering posting the great selling points and testing their ability to attract but I really don't have time to edit baby videos and I don't wish to attract viewers sexually to my channel, so I'm just too lazy to do so, but keep me informed if anyone that may read this wishes too do so. I'd also be intrested in the abilities of the other genres of entertainment, again why exactly would I waste hours of shooting editing and research to genterate a plot and story line, I'm just glad I'm not big on YT, cause then it takes hours of answering emails comments commenting on others and involving myself in a social world of people that can edit who they are to you, scary! Well let's see I have real goals in this life a few too many really, parenting career goal education goals so persuing the curosity of advertizing images is of not that great a importance to me, even though it's a great endevor for my career goals I have my own little sampling of poplation to test theroies on my work, more people or companies should really try this.

The Title Test

EXP #1 -- Title: Kittens Playing-- Views: 10 - 12 in all (2 views I don't count from my husband)-- Comments: 2 Rating : 4.5 stars of 3 ratings - Posted on a Tuesday at 7:00 pm removed on Wednesday at 11:00 - Viewed in 6 states and 2 countries- 1 view from YT search for key word kittens

EXP #2 -- Title: Hot Sex Kittens--Views 18 - 19 in all (again my video addicted husband couldn't stop from clicking the play button arhh!) -- Comments: 1 - Rating: 5 stars of 1 rating - Posted on Monday night at 7:30pm(opps almost forgot) removed on Tuesday night at 11:00 pm - Viewed in 5 countries - 38% of views from searches mainly key word sex and some from sex kittens

Exp #3--Title: Juno and Mark Apsolon's kittens- Views10 (this time my video addicted husband resisted watching it, wow that took will power) - Comments 1 - Rating 5 stars of 1 rating - Posted on Monday night at 7:30pm, removed on Tuesday night at 11:00 pm - viewed only in the USA - Viewed in 2 states viewed entirely by my subcribers no searches.
Control:
Video to be posted at 7:00PM EST and removed at 11:00pm EST the following day on weekdays, Same content included in images of video and sound, same thumbnail, same tags none, same category - animals, Same small sampling of subscribers 23*

Variables:
Mostly I'm concentrating on the title using examples of commonly used techniques from other you tubers to see if there is a major difference in the results.
There are some other variables I cannot control which makes this a very poorly designed scientific experiment, first of all the days which I post (I've heard that some days gain more viewers than others-this is a test for another week) second the subscriber base and my small sampling of the population. *Same small sampling of subscribers 23 (this may deter some because they have seen the video previously) and I'm counting on the support of people feel they need to give me views for having created something they believe I care deeply about, besides those that are simply understanding and caring, I've observed lots of undue attention given that is not deserved for bad videos this is also for the yt's own sake in receiving attention by giving it (I suppose that's not a bad lesson to learn if it's deeper meaning is understood). In my last blog I mentioned my concerns in a selective sampling also.

And as always I'm depending on my invisibility, and peoples lack of concern or true interest in other you tubers, peoples disconsern with reading on you tube, and their lack of ability to deal with any criticizing if they were to read my blog. I have hidden my blog with a link directly in front of my channel and named it the same as my YT channel this way I assume no one will ever read it. Invisibility has it's purposes, lol.
