Teen styles

Ok so it's obvious I'm so not a teenager I have no desire to act stupid I'm not interested in superficial things and I don't care about popularity much at all. However I have a teenager and I usually keep a keen eye out when I see things popping up on the scene, what starts with the teenagers on the east and west coast usually becomes causal fashion by the end of the year, and spreads to middle America in about 3 to 5 years, lol. Right now there's this great trend going on I just love it it's all about the gathering loose fitting layering free flowing cloth draped over your body. I believe it's a revival of 1920's fashion, it could even be due to our current economic parallels with the 20's. The layering part of this fashion is probally due to the common dress code in schools, lately many intercity schools have switched to uniforms or very strict dress codes, most of these schools have collared shirts sometimes called golf shirts. So what's a teen to do when the sluty styles have all been baned and there's no way of showing your individuality. Well these girls ware the golf shirt extra tight and unbutton it down to show their undershirts, these wife beater undershirts are coming in all sorts of bright patterns now to accommodate the poor deprived teenagers unable to show off. This undershirt trend allows for a lot of play for modern designers, you can make fashions that have very low show off neck lines no backs and your still not showing off everything (the goods). You change up this style for the weather too, say it's cold out the under shirt isn't the most important part of the style the over shirt is what shows so add a long sleeve under. Some other parts of this 1920's thing that make it a must have is the body type it can hide any flaws one might have so a big girl looks just as good in it as a twiggy. I like the 20's embelishments which have yet to catch on that much but you will see a bit of beading around the top of the over shirts or croqueting those little touches make a simple shirt out standing elegant and one of the most feminine fashions in years.
I really hope this trend is here to stay for a while.
